Mission
To address the state’s health and health workforce needs by providing educational programs and health care services in partnership with KUMC academic departments, health care agencies and other organizations committed to improving the health of the people of Kansas.
Program Goals
- Offer quality continuing education for health professionals addressing the individual needs of rural facilities and organizations.
- Strengthen collaboration among educational institutions, hospitals, nursing homes, health departments, health organizations, county extension and state government to promote healthy lifestyles.
- Offer opportunities to investigate careers in health care.
- Increase the use of new technologies in addressing education needs of health professionals and consumers.
- Provide administrative support for specialty clinics.
AHEC East provides continuing education programming for physicians, nurses and allied health professionals in the eastern one-third of the state.
